Yet another Strobist/laptop homage – my first attempt at actually doing something with light that looks cool…

Strobist info: Vivitar 285HV (gelled CTB) sitting on the keyboard, pointing at the screen on full power; Olympus FL-36 (no gel) dialled right down sitting on the floor about 1m away to camera right; 1/200s at f/18 (to get the – fully lit! – room nice and dark) and ISO 400; WB to daylight.
All triggered with cheapo eBay trigger/receivers.

I love techiness… So, I’m having an IM conversation with my friend, talking about the lighting I used in a few photos I had just taken and uploaded to Flickr. When she asked about it, I shot a photo of it with my Google phone, auto-uploaded it to Flickr via the Pixelpipe app, and linked her to the image I had just shot.

Question of the day: What brand is the best laptop cooler?
What brand is the best laptop cooler?

Answer by Abacus
The best external laptop cooler is not made for laptops. It is called a blue ice container. If you sit your laptop on a layer of these bad boys with a thin layer of cloth beween the two and a fan blowing toward the laptop, you will have the BEST cooling system available other than going outside on a winter day.

There are so many products available on the market that even magazines can’t give you an honest answer to what is the best available that is designed for the purpose. I have linked about 80 of the ones available. Some have 5 star rating, some 4 star, some good ones may not be on these pages.

I got to the airport early – not a good place to be running late! – and I’m relaxing in the departure lounge (Lounge? When I think of lounge, I think of Frank, Dean and Sammy in Vegas, or at least a comfortable chair with a way to evelate your feet. Airports should call them "waiting rooms" or something closer to reality . . . ) waiting for my flight to ATL.

Check out the notes to see what’s here!

I have an hp dv1000 that keeps overheating and turning off.

So im thinking of getting a laptop cooler. So which one should I get? there is so many.

My hp is 15″ and here’s what it looks like:

( ^ I can’t even touch the grill thing on the right when it overheats)

( ^ the right part heats up but not the left)
